Siobhan Keating is a Special Counsel in the Employment and Industrial
Relations practice. Prior to joining Maurice Blackburn,
Siobhan spent eight years as an industrial officer for a Queensland
trade union.
In 2011 Siobhan was recommended as a rising star from the
prestigious
Doyle's legal list.
Siobhan advises employees, including senior executives, in the
public and private sectors. She provides advice in all areas of
employment law, including unfair dismissals, general protections,
breach of contract claims. Siobhan works with clients on
matters such as redundancy and restraint of trade as well as
providing advice and assistance during workplace investigations and
disciplinary proceedings.
Siobhan has substantial experience in negotiation and can assist
clients with negotiations, conciliations and mediations in all
areas of employment law.
Employees are often uncertain about their rights and
entitlements. Siobhan works with employees to help them understand
their rights and the industrial instruments that govern their
employment. She assists employees to navigate through awards,
collective agreements and relevant industrial laws.
Siobhan has experience representing applicants in the state and
federal industrial relations tribunals. She understands that the
law surrounding discrimination, harassment and termination of
employment can be complex and confronting. Siobhan works with
clients to provide clear, practical advice about potential claims
and navigating the process.
