John Cain

John is a lawyer who has a long association with Maurice Blackburn, having commenced his legal career with the firm in 1982 and running the firm as managing partner from 1992 to 2002.
 
Since 2002, John has held the positions of Law Institute of Victoria CEO (2002 to 2006) and Victorian Government Solicitor (2006 to 2011).

John returned to Maurice Blackburn last year when he was appointed National Special Projects Manager in June.

Outside of Maurice Blackburn, John is a member of the Council of Legal Education, he is on the RMIT Law School Advisory Board and he sits on the Extended Supervision Board for Corrections Victoria - regarding applications for extended supervision orders on offenders.

Previously John has been a board member of the following organisations:

  • Homeless World Cup
  • Yachting Victoria
  • Volvo Ocean Race.
