Geoff Wilson is a Special Counsel in the Canberra office of
Maurice Blackburn (previously Pamela Coward Higgins). Geoff is a
recognised expert in Comcare workers' compensation matters and
proceedings in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
Since 1998, Geoff has acted for various corporations,
Commonwealth departments and statutory authorities including the
Department of Veterans' Affairs, the Department of Defence, Comcare
Australia, Telstra and Australia Post. He has provided advice
regarding the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act
1988 (the SRC Act) and its predecessor legislation. He now
works exclusively for injured workers.
Geoff is one of three lawyers representing workers on the
Federal Government's National Commonwealth Compensation and Liaison
Committee. This committee provides a means of consultation with
stakeholders concerning the management and resolution of disputes
regarding the SRC Act and the AAT. Geoff is also a member of the
Law Council of Australia's Commonwealth Compensation and
Employment Law Committee and he is an ACT Branch committee member
of the Australian Lawyers Alliance.
Before joining Pamela Coward Higgins and Maurice Blackburn,
Geoff worked in senior roles for leading national firms, more
recently as a partner. He now applies his knowledge and years of
experience in assisting individuals with claims, reconsiderations,
AAT appeals and court proceedings.
